What the two tests are

Functional test — a short test. It proves the fitting switches to its battery and lights up.

Duration test — a full test. It proves the battery holds the fitting on for its rated time, usually three hours.

A fitting must pass both. A fitting is listed as outstanding while either test has not passed. Neither test comes before the other.

The two tests overlap, so a fitting can appear in both counts. The line under Outstanding failures splits them into groups that do not overlap: failed both, duration only, functional only. Those groups add up to the total.

What a result means

Pass — the test completed and the fitting met it.

Fail — the test completed and the fitting did not meet it. The chip names the cause the system gave.

No result — the test has not been run, or it did not finish. This is not a pass and it is not a fail.

Why these results are separate

Emergency testing is a statutory duty. It is reported on its own and it does not change the commissioning score or module completion.

Drawn on more than one floor — the same sensor appears on two floor drawings. A sensor stands in one place, so one of them is wrong. This is a drawing error, not a test result, so it is recorded under Issues as a finding you can review and resolve. It is noted here as well, because here is where you meet it.

No measure on this page shows a change figure, because no history of emergency results is kept.

What the markers mean

New progress
A recorded state moved forward, such as Unassigned to Short address 12.
New fault
A fault appeared, or a previously good result became a fault. The triangle is the only shape you must act on.
Fault resolved
A fault shown in the earlier evidence is no longer present.
Tested again
A new test was recorded, but the result stayed the same. The two bars mean the same.
Graphic changed
A graphic was added, removed, renamed, or moved on the drawing. A square is not a circle, so it is not a test result, and it does not mean the drawing needs reissuing.
Address changed
A fitting was returned to and given a different short address. Real work, but a return visit rather than first-time addressing, so it never counts as new work.
A number
Several markers fall in the same place, so they are shown as one. The number is how many. Zoom in to separate them.
New work
A teal ring marks a fitting addressed for the first time, or a control that has now passed its test, since the previous sync. Amber still means outstanding.
